Inscribing the Word on the Tablet of My Heart

“And you shall write very clearly all the words of this law on these stones you have set up(Deut. 27:8).”

To live as God’s person means to remember and obey His commands. I, who was once a Gentile bound for death under the curse of sin, have become a child of God through Jesus Christ. Now, following the will of God my King is both my duty and my responsibility.

To obey His commands, I must first record His words upon stones. Inscribing letters into stone is a difficult and arduous task. Yet, through the process of carving each letter with care, God’s Word becomes engraved within me, and I begin to discern its deep meaning.

Today, I inscribe God’s Word deep within my heart. I memorize and meditate on it over and over until its outlines become clear. Through this constant reflection, I come to understand God’s heart, and above all, His Word begins to reveal itself through my life.

Engraving the Word is not a one-time event. Today, I continue to chew on His promises without ceasing. My hope is that the Word will permeate every part of my life, allowing me to grow more and more like Jesus.
