Like the Rising Sun in Its Strength

“So may all your enemies perish, Lord! But may all who love you be like the sun when it rises in its strength. Then the land had peace forty years(Judg. 5:31)”

The song of Deborah and Barak concludes with a powerful prayer of blessing. In contrast to the futile end of those who oppose the Lord, those who love Him are promised a vitality like the “rising sun.” The following record, stating that the land had peace for forty years, proves the kind of fruit a single person’s loving obedience can bring to an entire community.

Every Christian who has decided to love the Lord must now boldly participate in the will of Jesus Christ, the Master of our lives. Love is not merely a sentimental feeling; it is a “choice of obedience” to offer oneself before the Lord’s calling. Like Zebulun and Naphtali, who did not hesitate to climb the rugged mountains, it is only right for us to leave the comfortable streams and move toward where the Lord’s will resides.

When we choose the path of obedience out of love for Him, God grants the promised blessings and peace to our lives. Just as no one can stop the sun from piercing through the clouds, the grace God pours onto those who love Him cannot be blocked by any darkness of this world. This is because the life of the Lord within us pushes us upward with His strength, not our own.

Today, I seek a faith like the rising sun. I desire to break through the darkness of hesitation and fear, standing boldly in the place of mission given to me solely out of love for the Lord. As I respond fully to His will, I begin this day with strength, anticipating the true peace and song of victory that will flow through me.
