Blessings in the Mist of the Borderland

“Surely it is you who love the people; all the holy ones are in your hand. At your feet they all bow down, and from you receive instruction(Deut. 33:3).”

Moses, facing his imminent death, pours out his final blessings upon the tribes of Israel as they stand on the threshold of the Promised Land. Although delivered through Moses’ lips, these testamentary blessings reveal the grand plan and profound love of God the Father. As I encounter the heart of God, who calls each tribe by name and blesses their future so meticulously, a complex wave of emotions surges within me.

Lately, my heart feels as though it is trapped in a thick mist. As the time of waiting for my next step grows longer, the plans that seemed close enough to touch suddenly feel as if they have drifted far away. Questions like “How much longer must I wait?” and “When will God’s plan become clear?” continue to haunt me. Like Moses, who looked upon the Promised Land and blessed the tribes, I too stand at the border of a promised blessing, yet my own path remains obscured by a lingering fog.

However, as I meditate on Moses’ blessing today, I realize that the essence of a blessing is not the ‘clarity of the situation,’ but the ‘presence of God.’ God never averted His gaze from the tribes of Israel, whether they were in the wilderness or entering Canaan. The mist before my eyes may hide the view of the plan, but it can never hide God’s faithfulness.

Though nothing is within my grasp and the road ahead is invisible, I believe that God is already preparing the blessings for my next step. Waiting is not merely passing time; it is a process of ripening toward the ‘perfect moment’ when God’s plan will be beautifully fulfilled. Today, rather than struggling to find answers in the mist, I choose to trust God the Father, who is preparing a table of blessing for me in the unseen places.
